Monster Hunter: World update adds The Witcher’s Geralt of Rivia
Grab your sword and prepare to fight some new terrifying monsters, because Monster Hunter: World’s newest update has gone live on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
For this update, Capcom has collaborated with CD PROJEKT RED to deliver an epic crossover between Monster Hunter: World and The Witcher, with Doug Cockle reprising his role as Geralt of Rivia. Players who have reached Hunter Rank 16 will actually be able to transform into none other than The White Wolf and enjoy a new crossover questline.
In this free questline called ‘Contract: Trouble in the Ancient Forest’, Geralt will have to track down and eliminate the Leshen, a newly introduced monster that puts players up to quite the challenge. No reason to panic though, because Geralt’s arsenal and abilities are also at the player’s disposal. Staying true to The Witcher’s gameplay, the questline adds dialogues with different choices influencing how the story unfolds.
Additionally, more content will be added on February 15th for players who have reached Hunter Rank 50. They will be able to participate in ‘Contract: Woodland Spirit’ which is a multiplayer quest that has monster hunters teaming together to fight an even more lethal form of the Leshen. Players can take on the Ancient Leshen until March 1st. Completing the questline will earn players unique items and provide you with Ciri’s weapon set and armor.
While the update is already available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, PC players will sadly have to wait a little bit longer to dive into this The Witcher themed questline.
